This is our friend Jakey. We absolutely love him and his family! When we were working on a project in their home recently, his mom, Brittney, mentioned that she'd love to get updated photos of little Jake. Erica thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test out some of our newest lighting equipment! His mom also thought it would be a good excuse to capture him now, because he's no longer a baby, but not quite a big boy. Sometimes it's hard for parents to come up with a purpose behind capturing this in between stage in their children's lives. We like to call it the 5 year old portrait... but really it can happen between the ages of 4-6. Every child is so different, and it's so important to document this in-between stage because in just a short time they'll be growing and changing faster than ever before. This is the time where their little personalities are shining through and you can almost see what type of person they'll be.

Jakey is seriously the sweetest, funniest, most adorable little boy! He steals your heart with those big brown eyes and we love that you can tell it brings him joy to make you laugh! We were so honored to capture this stage in his little life. I mean, just look at all that personality!

After the shoot, he and his mama got us all ice cream! We had a little picnic on the floor in our office. It was awesome! Thanks Jakey, for realizing ice cream is always a good idea. Even at 11am ;) You're the best!
